What is Entity Framework?

Entity Framework (EF) is an object-relational mapping (ORM) framework for .NET developers. Developed by Microsoft, EF makes it easy to map objects to database tables and vice versa. This allows developers to work with objects in their code, rather than having to worry about the underlying SQL queries that are being executed.
