This walking tour will take you through some of Moncton's most iconic landmarks and architectural gems. You will learn about the city's history, from its humble beginnings as a railway town to its modern-day status as a thriving economic and cultural center.

Start: Moncton City Hall

Our tour begins at Moncton City Hall, located at 775 Main Street. This beautiful building was constructed in 1914 and is a fine example of Beaux-Arts architecture. The building is home to the offices of the Mayor and City Council, as well as the Moncton Museum.

Stop 2: CN Station

From City Hall, we will walk east on Main Street to the CN Station. This historic railway station was built in 1916 and is a designated National Historic Site of Canada. The station is still in use today and serves as a stop for VIA Rail trains.

Stop 3: Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception

Continuing east on Main Street, we will come to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. This beautiful Gothic Revival cathedral was built in 1891 and is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Moncton.

Stop 4: Aberdeen Cultural Centre

From the cathedral, we will turn south onto Highfield Street and walk to the Aberdeen Cultural Centre. This performing arts center was built in 1981 and is home to the Moncton Symphony Orchestra, the Moncton Opera, and the Moncton Theatre Company.

Stop 5: Resurgo Place

From the Aberdeen Cultural Centre, we will walk west on Main Street to Resurgo Place. This beautiful park was built in 2008 and is a popular spot for concerts, festivals, and other events.

Stop 6: Moncton Market

From Resurgo Place, we will walk east on Main Street to the Moncton Market. This public market is a great place to buy fresh produce, meat, and seafood. The market is also home to a variety of restaurants and cafes.

End: Riverfront Park

Our tour ends at Riverfront Park, located on the banks of the Petitcodiac River. This park is a great place to relax and enjoy the views of the river and the city skyline.
